Mobile HYRATE Biofilter towers are designed for easy transportation and erection on site. Towers are available in various configurations, packed with a range of media types, depending on application. Typical configurations contain 10.37 m3; 12.96 m3; 15.6 m3; 18.15 m3 and 23.3 m3 of modular plastic media. Standard modules have a plan of 2.4 mts x 1.8 mts and contain media packed to 1.2; 1.5; 1.8; 2.1 and 2.4 mts. Modules being stacked to achieve the desired packed depth of media. Towers can be supplied to meet Roughing; Intermediate and Nitrifying applications.

Modules are normally delivered to site on 40ft road transport, ready for immediate erection on flat concrete base slab. Each HYRATE Biofilter unit is designed as a free standing structure, supplied complete with effluent collection tray and flanged outlet connection, vertical caged access ladder and static HYCOVER distribution system. Site erection and commissioning can be achieved on day of delivery. A full set of ancillary equipment is available including portable recirculation tanks, transfer and tower feed pumps; together with interconnecting pipework and electrical control panels.

HYRATE Biofilters can be used to treat effluent diverted from stone filters during demolisition and reconstruction and subsequently to treat the new filter effluent until stone media reaches the required performance. During refurbishment of this Sewage Works the HYRATE biofilter plant achieved final effluent of 20 mg/l BOD: after settlement of humus solids.
